Will Outlander season 5, season 6 have a shorter hiatus in between?
Yet, there is already some evidence out there that moving into season 6, there could be a slightly smaller break from a production standpoint — at least when you think about the schedule that is being set up for the writers. As we’ve learned recently, the writers room for season 6 is already underway trying to perfect the latest adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s source material and, with that in mind, it is possible that the cast could be back at work within the first several months of 2020. A part of the process leading up to the seasons 5 & 6 renewal may have been filming the two in close proximity to one another. That way, on the other side of it the cast could have a larger break again, similar to what they did between seasons 4 and 5. This would make some sense — it would allow Starz to have a smaller hiatus between seasons, and then also allow the cast to plan out more of what they want their long-term future to be.
Of course, none of this is official just yet, and it also doesn’t serve to answer whether or not season 6 could be the series’ last. There will be more time to talk about this as we get closer to those episodes filming, but for the time being, we remain very optimistic. There are more stories left to tell based on the books, and the series remains enormously successful all over the world. Getting the first two seasons on Netflix should only help to get the series that added dose of attention.
Are you hoping for a little bit of a shorter transition between the end of season 5 and the start of season 6? Be sure to share in the comments, and remember here to stick around for some other news.
