‘Snooki & JWoww’ season 2 gets a premiere date, new night
When Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi returns to MTV early next year, she will be doing so without the luxury of having “Jersey Shore” as a backup. In addition to that, we are also going to be seeing her spin-off show take off to a new night, and also get a good bit longer in length.
On Wednesday, the network announced that the return of “Snooki & JWoww” is set to air on Tuesday, January 8, and it will be moving to an hour-long format similar to the show in which it is based on. Is this really the right move? We are not really sure, mostly because our biggest problem with the first season of the show is that it felt like nothing was really happening. How will that really work once the show is twice as long?
Then again, our hope when it comes to this show is that now that the “Jersey Shore” franchise is over, the show will have a little bit more when it comes to real content. We never really felt that the first season was anything more than an unscripted sitcom, but now that Snooki is going to be a mom, it will probably much harder to orchestrate drama for a show in which we saw quite a bit of this very thing happening for a little while. We all will see more of both parties’ home lives, as they start to adjust to more of a home life as young women who are going to be getting married at some point likely in the new year.
