‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: Meredith and Derek have a moment (video)

Even though Thursday night’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” is supposed to be very much about the men, that does not mean that they are going to be appearing in every scene that we see. With that in mind, the latest sneak peek actually starts off by putting the focus more so on Meredith and Cristina … even if a certain doctor played by Patrick Dempsey is the primary topic of conversation.

Basically, the worry here by Meredith is both a simple and understandable one: she does not know if her husband is ready to confront the possibility that he may never be able to operate again, and she has to find out as many ways as possible to say that a career in teaching is not only lucrative for the interns that he will be helping, but it is also rewarding for him. This is not an easy argument to make to someone who was not only a master surgeon prior to the plane crash, but seemingly did not really even think about doing anything else for a living.

Near the end of the conversation, Derek finally doing walk in, and with that, the consoling begins. We do have to give Meredith some pretty serious credit for finding an easy way to go about the conversation, since this obviously is not something that anyone really wants to talk about considering how recent the memories of the plane crash probably still are.

This episode is directed by Kevin McKidd, and comes one week before we see a potentially game-changing hour that will focus entirely on Meredith and Cristina along with their future plans.
