Derek Peth leaving Bachelor in Paradise; Tayshia Adams’ decision
So what’s some of the stuff that we’re talking about here? Think along the lines of seeing Clay struggle with Angela’s arrival in Paradise, and then all of the drama between Derek, John Paul Jones, and Tayshia. Then, Matt Donald and Luke Stone arrived in Paradise, though perhaps too late to really find any connection. (Sydney really wanted that kiss from Matt, but he couldn’t quite get there.)

Yet, entering the episode we heard teases that there was going to be some sort of significant departure — we just had to wonder who that exit was going to be. If you don’t have a significant relationship in Paradise, eventually you’re going to have to leave. It’s really as simple as that. Some just end up choosing to leave a little bit sooner rather than later.
For Derek Peth, tonight decided that it was the end of the road for him. He decided that there wasn’t anything else there for him after two different breakups. First, it was the end of things for him and Demi; then, it was everything with Tayshia as she said that she wasn’t quite there for him on a romantic level. Demi and Kristian both wished him the best as he departed and this is it for him this time around; he decided that he didn’t just want to stay there if he wasn’t interested in anyone.
Ultimately, this season wasn’t the right environment for Derek, but he may turn up on the show again down the line. We definitely don’t think that he will be the next Bachelor, but we’re not sure that his time in the franchise is 100% over.
