Power season 6 video: 50 Cent talks briefly spin-off, prequel

For the sake of this article, though, we’re looking more towards the long-term future of the franchise as opposed to anything right now. After all, there’s going to be a spin-off coming entitled Power Book II: Ghost. While executive producer 50 Cent didn’t say too much about it in the video below (via Extra), he did make it clear that there isn’t going to be too abnormal a wait between the end of this series and the start of work on the new one. We would imagine that this will be a chance to feature some characters from the original show in some capacity … provided that there are some who survive, given that right now we can’t be altogether optimistic about the fate of any of them.
Meanwhile, 50 Cent also discussed further in here (alongside La La) a Power prequel series entitled Raising Kanan, one that could explore some of the origins of his own character, who died back in season 5. There is no clear timetable for this series at the moment, but it’s something to at least ponder over as a possibility down the line.
The biggest takeaway that we have from this interview at the moment is simply this: There is so much more story to explore within the world of Power beyond just the events of the series finale. While we’re seeing the end of the road here for one story, it’s hardly the end of the road for all of them. There are opportunities to dive into this tapestry and explore all sorts of exciting odds/ends. Personally, we’re eager to see what some of those look like.
