NCIS season 17 premiere spoilers: New Cote de Pablo photo!

The image above was released by CBS for the upcoming batch of episodes premiering next month, and it features Cote de Pablo by herself … but only for the time being. In looking at this, the primary question we have is simply this: What in the world is Ziva doing there? Is she hiding inside some sort of tunnel or series of pipes? Is that where she’s living? It may seem like a crazy question in some way, but the character has to live somewhere and there aren’t a whole lot of places for her to call her home at the moment. She’s been off the grid, separate from her family, and for a while it may not have felt like there was any way for her to get back to the people she loves.
Could this be how her return factors into the story? At a certain point, we imagine that Ziva is tired of being separate from family and her life. Beyond that, it also does seem as though there are some pretty serious reasons why she’s coming back now — there people who are clearly after her, and she now feels as though some of these people are also after Gibbs. How much has Gibbs known about this — if he knows anything? That’s one of the questions we’re curious about, given that we’ve long had this suspicion that he would’ve raised far more questions about Ziva’s death than we ever ended up seeing on-screen. If we had to venture a theory (and this is just our guess), he may have had his suspicions about Ziva ignited when that whole conversation with Bishop happened where she basically said if you know something, say something. Gibbs would’ve likely looked into things further at that point and may have figured it out – but again that’s just our theory and who knows, he may have known the whole time.
This image is one of many that will trickle out leading into the premiere of NCIS this fall — and hopefully some of them feature more of Cote alongside some of her other co-stars. We truly can’t wait for the premiere and were thrilled when we learned earlier today that there’s at least 4 episodes that Ziva is going to be in! We are ready for this nice, slow ride into Ziva Town.
