Suits series finale: Who in the cast is done with filming?
In a post on Instagram, Sarah Rafferty (Donna) confirmed that we’ve reached the end of the road — or, at least the end of production — for Katherine Heigl, who plays Samantha Wheeler on the show. Not only that, but one of the show’s most iconic locations on Bay Street in downtown Toronto is also done for good. As someone who’s spent a lot of time in Toronto, it’s a cool part of the city … though you could also say that about big chunks of Toronto as a whole.

Rafferty’s post does verify that even with Samantha’s job status currently being in jeopardy, there are still a number of interesting stories that are going to be coming out for this character. Think in terms of her fighting to presumably get her job back and if she doesn’t, maybe working in order to find a little bit of happiness somewhere else. We do think that there are all sorts of interesting venues that could be out there for the character, much as there was a fantastic life for Jessica Pearson outside of the firm. We’re finding that out over on Pearson.
Of course, the goal of the Suits series finale is to bring to the table sufficient endgames for a lot of the core characters, whether you are talking all about Donna, Harvey, Louis, and even Mike, who seems to be back in some capacity. There’s enough evidence that is out there about it to make us think that there’s going to be a satisfying conclusion there.
In the end, “satisfying” is the word we are (hopefully) going to be using for the end of Suits. There’s a lot that the show needs to address before the end, but we don’t think that the writers are out to depress us by whatever happens at the end of the road.
