Supergirl season 5 – Batwoman promo shows the power of joining forces

Supergirl

When Supergirl season 5 premieres on The CW a little bit later this fall, it’s going to be a part of a lineup like no other … one that you could say is totally super.

It makes sense for Supergirl and Batwoman to join forces on Sunday night, and a lot of it begins with the oh-so-simple fact that the shows have a lot in common. Both are DC Comics properties that have sizable comic audiences, and the two characters have already met each other. We do think that the new promo is probably a tad misleading in that we don’t see the characters crossing paths on the regular, but we do have a feeling that you will be seeing Kara Danvers and Kate Kane spending a little time together here and there. It just makes sense, even beyond the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event. The shows have an opportunity to help each other out in terms of their ratings and it feels like they would be silly to completely ignore that. Why not just run for it if there are some interesting story possibilities here?

Batwoman is one of The CW’s biggest gambles this fall. With there being so many other superhero shows on TV at the moment, is there going to be room for another one? What it needs to do is get off to a great start right away and deliver a story that offers up action, character development, and a whole lot more.

As for Supergirl season 5, we know that there’s going to be a story coming up that is based on technology, common connections, and a whole lot more. Leviathan has a huge role to play in the upcoming episodes, as does the question of Lena’s alignment and where she fits in following all of the chaos that happened with Lex at the end of season 4. We still want to hope that she can make it through what’s ahead, as we’re going to see one of the biggest tests of her as a character to date.
