‘The X Factor’ notes: David Correy, Jillian Jensen, Melanie Amaro
Now that we actually know the contestants on this season of “The X Factor” pretty well, it is admittedly a little bit easier to actually talk a little bit about them than it once was; and for this Saturday edition of our show “notes” (which, for those of your new to the page, are bite-size stories on your favorite singers), we are starting off with a major revelation courtesy of top 16 member David Correy.
According to a new report from TMZ, a woman named Luciene Lima has come forward with some claims that she is the birth mother that Correy has been seeking to find for pretty much his entire career, and he even claimed that finding her was one of the reasons why he auditioned for this show to begin with. Lima, who lives in Brazil, had a suspicion that the tattoo-covered singer may have been her child after watching him alone, and she eventually traced it through the Brazilian court system and found out that most of the information lined up.
David and Luciene have been connected now thanks to the local media, and while no DNA test has been conducted yet, a source close to Correy says that he is thrilled. Now, let’s just hope that the results come back in his favor.
The wild card chatter begins – Before we start here, we should warn you that there are some spoilers for those of you who have not either watched the Canadian broadcast of the show, or found out who the top 16 is already courtesy of the link here.
What’s going on here? Well, one of the most surprising moves made during the judges’ houses was watching Jillian Jensen be sent home over CeCe Frey, and Jensen has since tweeted out a link to a Facebook page petitioning for a wild card to be added to the show this season. We do actually think that there is some validity to this idea, even if this page is not official. Why? With the way that the judges’ houses show was set up, we would not be surprised if the likes of Reed Deming, Jillian, Tara Simon, and whoever the last group is to be sent home from Simon Cowell are voted on by America, and the most-popular one joins the show. Based on followings alone, we’d have to put our money on Jillian here.

Well, it seems by now that Jillian won’t be coming back. Simon already made that clear. And she’s contractually tied up until after the season is over before she can release any albums. But she will do fine. Ani De Franco has done extraordinarily well even without any major label deal. They come to her begging for her to sign because she is so successful and she just says she does just fine and does not need them. True. And she’s not strapped with their restrictive contracts.
And did you notice how X Factor glammed up all the live show contestants. I don’t think Jillian is just another pop artist of that nature. She does not need that. It’s probably better she does not even go down that road…

Jillian should have been onto the live shows…period. But… after watching this first live show last night…she is actually just too good for xfactor, they would have tried to change her image I’m sure. Would love to see Jillian now go off and do her thing, she has a great fan base to run with. She is totally talented musically… singing, playing and writing. I remember a guy named Chris Daughtry who got tossed from a show, look at him now!!!

Hard to know if Jillian will be brought back at this point. Those Judges’ House cuts were actually made back in August and only just recently aired after all the edits, etc. Jillian has kept quite when asked regarding what she thinks about a wild-card. She’s under certain contract restrictions as to what she can say and do with all this, which seems to me like there is a possibility she will be called back. Otherwise, she should be free to really move on and be strongly pursuing other performance/interview opportunities. It will make a great story for XF and perhaps return some credibility to Demi as a judge on the show. Too many people are upset about it and XF. And you can bet the XF producers are looking at the show fallout and the support Jillian has. Why not run with it? Could boost ratings, after all.

JILLIAN JENSEN is a talented, gifted, vocalist. You see her on that stage an you see she breathes music and talent. DEMI you recognized her talent and got scared she would sell more albums than you… Especially because you are the same age. I read a comment that Joe jonas called her sexy and he recognized her talent and you got jealous. Dumb Demi Downer.

I think it’s fixed after being a loyal view I see that now. Jillian and Jefferey Gutt should have never gone home. But yet they have people there that do not deserve to be there.
Im serious if they don’t bring Jillian back I am done. I not a poor loser it’s just the X Factor underestimates us the fan. We will back up our contest and boycott. Bringing Mario Lopez and Kadish will do no good the damage has been done. It’s all about marketing. Win or lose we will buy Jillian’s and Jefferey music there are the true talents with or without x factor. Remember Jennifer Hudson? She lost American Idol yet she won a grammy which is far much better. It all about talent x Factor has turned into a 3 ring circus. christmasiscoming.notlong.com

Jillian Jensen is the right choice. I left the show confused and in doubt of its honesty.

Big, big mistake if X does not get Jillian back and into the live shows. That was one of the stupidest moves on Demi’s part to do that. What was she thinking? Or rather, NOT thinking! Either way, she will have a lasting career singing long after everyone has forgotten who CeCe Frey is–sorry but there is just nothing outstanding about CeCe’s voice. There are lots and lots of singers like her working the fair and nightclub circuits–good singers, technically, pretty, etc. But how does anyone remember her voice compared to Jillian’s?
