The Flash season 6 filming begins; what lies ahead?

Flash season 4

For everyone interested in The Flash season 6, know this: The cameras are rolling!

Earlier this week, Hartley Sawyer (who plays Ralph Dibny) and others within the CW show first confirmed that the cast and crew are back at worth trying to craft new stories within their Central City sandbox. This season is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious ones yet, with one of the central reasons for this being the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover and what that means for the show. We don’t anticipate that having a huge role in the early going this season, but we will likely build closer and closer to it as the story moves forward. The crossover is slated to air near the end of 2019.

So, in the early going on The Flash season 6, what can you expect to see? Think in terms of yet another Big Bad introduction, someone who will be around for most of the season. This character’s casting listing came out earlier this year but it’s far too early to know just who they could be. We wouldn’t be shocked if the writers go more in the speedster direction again after spending the past couple of years venturing away from that direction.

Meanwhile, the series is also introducing a new scientist character — we haven’t heard much in terms of major character departures just yet (other than Nora), and we’re hoping that this season is in some ways more intimate. We’d like more stories about characters like Caitlin, Cisco (we’re assuming he’s still around), and Ralph, characters we didn’t get to see too many big personal arcs for. Caitlin’s father felt like he had so much more potential but the role was cut far too short. We do get it that it’s hard to balance out all of these different stories, especially when you got crossovers and newcomers coming on board.

The Flash season 6 will return in October; expect some more news to be announced later this July when San Diego Comic-Con takes place. For more on what we know on the show, be sure to visit the link here.
