‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: ‘American Idol’s’ Jessica Sanchez officially cast

Are you ready for some more “Glee” casting news? For this new edition, we are diving back in to a rumor that we actually first heard about several months ago involving the reigning runner-up on “American Idol.”

According to TVLine, Jessica Sanchez has finally been cast officially months after her role was originally speculated to be happening. Unfortunately, what we do not know at this very moment is just who she will be playing, and how many episodes she is actually going to appear in. We would be stunned if she was to actually turn up until the second half of the season next year, if for no other reason than that we really can’t see her having the time to film the show while also work on recording her debut album coming out in time for the holiday season.

As for what sort of role she would play, we really see two options: a new student at McKinley High with a huge voice, or the latest lead singer to be watched out for with Vocal Adrenaline. If the latter is the case, she would be filling the role of another famous singer with ties to the Philippines in Charice, whose role was unfortunately one of the biggest letdowns ever in that we expected the producers to use her far more than they did. We’re not sure how much experience Jessica has really as an actor, but this does mark her third visit to primetime after both “American Idol” and a brief stint on “America’s Got Talent” all the way back in 2006 (which was something that the Fox reality show really tried its best not to mention).

What do you think about this casting?
