‘Downton Abbey’ season 3 spoilers: Hugh Bonneville reacts to shocker

As has been our tradition lately, we are going to start things out here with a warning: if you have not watched Sunday night’s episode of “Downton Abbey” (meaning you are anywhere other than Britain or do not have the capacity to watch it online), you should probably stop reading now.

By and large, most of the show’s cast is being grateful enough to not post any major spoilers on any of their Twitter accounts so that the show is not ruined for any international viewers. However, we do still have some new kind words to share courtesy of series star Hugh Bonneville, who made a rather brief message sharing just some of his general thoughts on an emotional hour that brought us the unfortunate death of Sybil, and also added with that a rather interesting comment all about how television is distributed around the world:

“Won’t comment on tonight’s UK #DowntonAbbey coz don’t want to spoil for non-uk tweeps. But it’s a priv to work with @Allenleech et al(len) … And the sooner popular shows like #downtonabbey have same day/week/month transmission in other territories, the better for everyone #imho”

Typically, British audiences have grown accustomed to waiting for several weeks on end in order to watch some more of their favorite shows. However, the feeling is admittedly still new to American viewers, who are traditionally a bit more impatient thanks to the fact that they are used to really getting everything that they want almost exactly when they want it. The show will not air stateside until January on PBS, and at that point, some of the actors may be a bit more keen to share.
