Krypton season 2 episode 2 video: Lobo, Doomsday, and more

Lobo

Wednesday night’s Krypton season 2 episode 2 is going to serve you all sorts of great DC-related content. What other show is bringing you Lobo and Doomsday within the span of a single episode? While this may be a prequel series to the world of Superman, it’s actually bringing you just as much cool Superman-related content as almost anything set within the present.

As we prepare now for tomorrow’s new episode, Syfy has a couple of sneak peeks that give you more about both of these characters. In regards to Lobo, the first sneak peek shows you what happens when you irritate him — he’s not the sort of person you want to mess with. This episode is going to give you the biggest Lobo showcase out of anything that we’ve seen so far. This will be where we get an opportunity to fully explore the ins and outs of this character, including just who he is and what exactly it is that he wants. This is a window into his attitude … but maybe not his soul. We don’t think he’s going to start opening up about his past in the middle of the woods!

As we’ve said already, obviously the folks over at Syfy are super-high on Lobo as a character and what he brings to the table. After all, they’ve already opted to give this character a spin-off show! That’s good news for him, but obviously great news for Krypton since it’s a pretty clear sign that they’ve got a lot of faith in this character and his worthiness of a separate series.

As for Doomsday, the big takeaway that we have from the other sneak peek is just how awesome this sequence is — it has a certain degree of terror to it, and ironically, the visuals here are somewhat reminiscent of season 1 of AMC’s The Terror. Thematically, there could be some other similarities here given that some of the story could revolve around whether or not something like Doomsday could be harnessed. Is there a way in which to use this power? Can you really control something that is so far out of your control?

No matter what’s coming in tomorrow’s episode, let’s hope that the ratings recover. The season 2 premiere mustered only a 0.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just under 500,000 viewers live — its lowest output to date. That’s a drop of more than 70% in the demo from the live series premiere numbers. We don’t want to see this become another Syfy show with a short run, or for them to rethink their decision with Lobo and doing more with that character.
