Floribama Shore renewed for season 3; setting shifts to St. Pete

Floribama Shore

After being a long wait for the news, Floribama Shore is officially coming back for more — though it’s moving to a different location.

Today, MTV confirmed that Jeremiah Buoni, Codi Butts, Kortni Gilson, Aimee Hall, Kirk Medas, Nilsa Prowant, Candace Rice and Gus Smyrnios are all coming back for another batch of episodes! That means more antics, more fighting, but probably more romance and the live-in-the-moment feeling you’ve come to expect from this series. They will also be moving down to St. Petersburg, Florida and the surrounding area after spending the first two seasons at Panama City, Beach.

Why the move? After two seasons in Panama City Beach, the show may have just wanted a new coat of paint. It’s a way to also showcase a different part of Florida — though we should note that the series is not altering its Floribama Shore name. Nor is it doing anything different in regards to its cast and style. We’re going to see more of what we know and love from this cast — for better and for worse.

Seriously, how obvious is it at this point that MTV is totally in love with the State of Florida? In between this show, Siesta Key, and the times Jersey Shore has been set in Miami, we’ve seen a lot of it over the years… and we can’t blame them! We even looked at moving to Florida years back before settling in California and it was beautiful there.

Given that Floribama Shore season 3 is currently setting up shop in the St. Pete – Tampa area, maybe you’ll get to see new episodes in late summer/early fall. It’s all just a matter of however quickly filming can take place and, following that, when the episodes get put together.

What Floribama Shore means to MTV

First of all, it’s a chance for network executives to roll around in a lot of money. Beyond that, they recognize its value as a pop-culture sensation. This is one of their most-popular unscripted shows and it has been since the premiere. It continually draws headlines and it can produce its own home-grown talent. That makes it a little different from some of their other reality shows, which have become a little more dependent on bringing on folks from Big Brother and The Bachelor world for attention.

For a first-look photo at the Floribama Shore cast, just take a look below courtesy of executive producer SallyAnn Salsano — basically, one of the reasons why MTV’s had any shows at all with the name Shore in the title. She puts a ton of care into not just the casts of these shows, but their overall staying power. It’s not easy to wrangle all of these young people through their various highs and lows, but she finds a way to make it happen!
