Is Blindspot new tonight on NBC? Key season 5 questions
Unfortunately, the bad news remains this: There is no new episode tonight. More than that, there aren’t going to be any new episodes for quite some time. We know that there is a season 5 coming, but NBC didn’t put it on the fall schedule; so, more than likely you’re looking at an early 2020 launch for what is going to be the final batch of episodes for the show.

So what are some of the key questions to wonder about while you wait for Blindspot to come back? Think in terms of this first and foremost — are we actually going to see some of these characters survive the cliffhanger? Patterson, Reade, Zapata, and Weller all find themselves in severe danger after what happened to them with the cabin blowing up. If you just look at it on the surface, it looks like everybody is dead. Yet, we like to think that there was some sort of secret compartment that they were tipped off about at the very last second and they crawled in there. If that’s the case, then they can emerge in one piece from the rubble and then continue on with their mission. Perhaps one of the best parts of it is that nobody would even know that they are still alive. Pretty good leg up, right?
The second question is just what happens on the other side of all of this. Provided everyone survives, the mission then becomes trying to find a way to make it back home, prove their innocence, and unseat Madeline once and for all. She’s found a way to seize power, which makes it kind of an interesting dynamic because this is one of the first times where the main villain actually ended up winning. We don’t think the victory is permanent, but it’s certainly more of a victory than we’ve seen before.
Finally, we do just wonder what the legacy of this show and these characters is going to be. Throughout the final season, we certainly expect that to be explored. Take, for example, Jane and Weller. Can they find some element of happiness, and will they end up staying with the FBI for a long period of time? Weller is already talking about getting away from it all and having more time to be a father, and maybe that is something that he and Jane will decide to do. Because what they’re facing at the moment is such a rollercoaster ride, it feels almost silly to assume anything one way or another. The same goes for what happens with Reade and Zapata’s relationship as a whole.
