Britain’s Got Talent review: Chapter 13, Kojo Anim, & Colin Thackery

Angels Inc – This is the first audition and a high-energy one with a lot of excitement and drama. They do some cool elaborate stage magic, and we actually appreciate more of a traditional magic act, one with great choreography at the same exact time. A worthy kick-off to the show as a whole!
Rob King – We love the story of the guy who works at the theater but can’t quite end up on the stage himself. He’s got a tremendous voice and a real sense of theatricality. While we’re not sure that he’s going to be mainstream pop, he could really find a place for himself within the theater community.
KNE – It’s tough to be a dance crew in 2019 after there have been SO many of them over the years. One of the biggest challenges is mostly finding a way to stand out from what is at this point very much a competitive field, one that is so crammed with a lot of quality talent. We do think that they’re good, but they aren’t exactly SO good that we think they’ll go through.
John Archer – This was stellar from start to finish — he’s an incredibly funny man with a great deal of magic skill. Sure, this was the same sort of magic we’ve seen on this show many times this season already, but that doesn’t change just how brilliant he is, or some of the great stuff he could be capable of bringing to the table moving forward.
Gomonov Knife Show – These two are incredibly dangerous and we absolutely think that they executed some really cool, dangerous stuff. There was one little slip-up with one knife, but this is the sort of act we’d love to see make it far just because they do offer up something a little bit different.
Colin Thackery – We knew that Colin was going to be a sentimental favorite for a lot of the British public out there, and for good reason, given just how emotional of a performer he is. We don’t necessarily think he’s the best singer out there, but there are occasions in which that doesn’t matter as much. This may be that.
Kojo Anim – He’s such a funny narrator, and we think that’s a big part of what makes him a great performer. His material is good, but his character is outstanding since it really gives you a chance to actually know and understand who he is.
Chapter 13 – The final performance tonight, and a band that was eager to find a way to rise to the next level after what they did in the auditions. We’re not sure that this is going to give them more votes, though, given that they went from doing really popular covers in the auditions to something nobody is going to be anywhere near as familiar with.
