FBI spin-off FBI: Most Wanted picked up to series at CBS
Most Wanted first originated as a planted spin-off in FBI proper earlier this season, and it is apparently a part of a long-term plan by executive producer Dick Wolf. Much like he’s done over at NBC with the One Chicago universe, there is a chance that there could eventually be a large-scale family of shows on the network.
The Most Wanted spin-off is set to feature Julian McMahon, Alana de la Garza, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Kellan Lutz, Roxy Sternberg, and Nathaniel Arcand — the official logline below doesn’t give away much, but you can check it out nonetheless:
“Centered on the Fugitive Task Force of the FBI that tracks and captures the notorious criminals on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.”

Evil – It’s executive-produced by The Good Wife alum Robert and Michelle King, and it also features Mike Colter of Luke Cage/The Good Wife fame in a lead role. Here’s the logline:
EVIL is a psychological mystery that examines science vs. religion and the origins of evil. The series focuses on a skeptical female forensic psychologist who joins a priest-in-training and a carpenter to investigate and assess the Church’s backlog of supposed miracles, demonic possessions and unexplained phenomena.
All Rise – It’s a legal drama set in Los Angeles, with Hart of Dixie alum Wilson Bethel being among one of the primary roles. Check out more details:
A drama that follows the dedicated, chaotic, hopeful, and sometimes absurd lives of judges, prosecutors, and public defenders as they work with bailiffs, clerks and cops to get justice for the people of Los Angeles amidst a flawed legal system.
Of these three shows, it’s easy to be most confident in the success of FBI: Most Wanted just because of the franchise name involved in it. It could also help to fill a void left by Criminal Minds, which also focused on a specialized division of the FBI. (Criminal Minds was already renewed for a final season.) Evil is a show that is also worth a good bit of consideration just because of the producers involved, but the presence of the Kings does not necessarily guarantee a hit. Just remember their experimental Washington show BrainDead. (If you didn’t know, the Kings are doing brilliant things at the moment with The Good Fight, though the series has pretty clearly drifted off from its original premise to become a whole lot more of a political drama than anything else.)
