‘Private Practice’ review: Addison learns to come clean
There’s little question that Tuesday night’s new episode of “Private Practice” was a difficult one, and hopefully, it will be able to serve as some sort of transition for all of the characters involved moving forward not just in their jobs, but also in their lives. After all, doesn’t there have to be a specific point in time in which these characters are actually allowed to move on with their lives to a certain extent.
Just as we have seen on “Grey’s Anatomy” this season, it’s taken Addison and her fellow crew of doctors some time to get over not only the death of Pete, but also the end of Mark’s life that has come down from up north. Rather than trying to deal with this in an unhealthy and rather unrealistic way, though, we have to give Addison some credit for treating this like she was an adult. While grieving Mark, she also came clean about all of her past to Jake, whether it be cheating on Derek, aborting Mark’s baby, and the aftermath of their relationship that was just one key cog to her eventual move to California. Really, this was just a lot for Jake to take in, but he seemed to appreciate actually being told everything honestly rather than having his new girlfriend beat around the bush.
In some ways, this episode was really all about various characters doing their best to come clean. Sam opened up about some his faults to Stephanie, Violet started to finally get some of the help she desperately needs at this time, and Cooper and Charlotte reached a new level of understanding when it came to her pregnancy … including the best way to act around her pregnant belly.
