Absentia season 2: Prepare with Amazon trailer, catch-up video
Today, the streaming service debuted not only a new trailer for what’s coming up next, but also a season 1 recap video that will help to prepare you for the further adventures of one Emily Byrne as she does her part to navigate the current state of her life — and some new mysteries that go along with it.
Without giving anything away, we can tell you that the second season will feature Emily, in the aftermath of all of the trauma of season 1, trying to piece together her present and uncover some of the secrets involving her past. She’s going to try to preserve some of the relationships that she has while building new ones, but eventually, a new mystery could threaten to overtake her mind. Meanwhile, her ex-husband Nick Durand will find himself thrown into a complicated new case, while his new wife Alice Byrne and Emily’s brother Jack face new responsibilities and trials. This season has a little bit of something for everyone and is designed with the sole purpose of keeping you guessing from now all the way until the very end.
If you enjoyed the mystery, the drama, and the action of season 1, you have to be prepared to experience all of that once again. Stana Katic delivers another fantastic performance, and you’ll get to explore some different sides to the Emily character, as well. Before the official start of season 2 in Canada earlier this year, Katic teased that there will be some sort of love interest for Emily during the season (though not necessarily love in the traditional sense); meanwhile, at some point, the Emily character is going to venture out of Boston. As for the reason why that’s something that we’ll keep under wraps for now. The objective with this show is to constantly keep things as intense as possible, while also working to sprinkle in new breadcrumbs and story elements that you haven’t seen before. It’s a balancing act, but also a thrill ride. Once you start watching the first episode, it’s going to be very hard to stop. Trust us as someone who watched the majority of the first season in roughly a couple of days.
Remember to dive into Absentia season 2 not too long after it premieres on Amazon, given that this is the best way to ensure that we get a season 3! Nothing is 100% confirmed there just yet but we have to think that with these characters and with this particular world, there is always going to be room to explore some different avenues.
