Dynasty season 2 episode 20 preview: ‘New Lady in Town’ + Dominique!
This character was a staple of the original series, as Diahann Carroll played the part for more than seventy episodes. Here, Michael Michele is taking on the role — the plan is for her to make a splash at the end of this season, and if that splash is big enough, potentially make her a larger part of the show next season. Given some of the changes that have hit Dynasty already this season, whether it be a surprise departure to a “new” version of Alexis, there’s no real reason other than to keep that going.
Is Dominique is like most other arrivals within this world, you better believe that she’s going to enter the fray this season with 1) an agenda and 2) a propensity to cause a little bit of chaos. For more insight on what’s next now, check out the Dynasty season 2 episode 20 synopsis that CarterMatt has below:
MAMA’S HOME – Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) and Liam (Adam Huber) team up to exact revenge against Adam, who’s been sabotaging Fallon’s business and personal endeavors. Jeff’s (Sam Adegoke) recovery from a mysterious illness is complicated by the arrival of a potent figure from his past — his mother, Dominique (Michael Michele). Grant Show, Ana Brenda Contreras, Robert Christopher Riley, Maddison Brown and Alan Dale also star. The episode was written by David Israel and directed by Elodie Keene (#220). Original airdate 5/10/2019.
What’s quite fun about the timing of Dominique’s arrival into the Dynasty world is that it’s probably the least opportune time for all of the characters. That’s a good thing. It’s always going to be better when you throw a character into a world where everything seems to be going downhill already. That’s a way to unsettle them in a wonderful fashion, and that does help to further ensure that you’re going to see their heads darting in every direction, wondering what in the world to do. Because Jeff’s got so much else going on, including his recovery, he may not even know what to do in regards to his mother.
We don’t want to completely ignore the Fallon/Liam storyline, either. There’s always going to be something fun about seeing the two of them work in lockstep, especially when their objective is something so wonderfully dark as a revenge plot. It may be merited in their mind, but depending on their actions, it may be hard to justify them.
