The Resident season 2 episode 23 (finale) spoilers: Nic’s last-ditch effort

The Resident season 2 episode 23 next week is going to be the final episode of the season, and with everything on the line, it’s going to be hard to see just how far Nic is going to go. We know what the stakes are for her: Trying to save her sister Jessie by whatever means necessary.

On tonight’s episode, you will see Emily VanCamp’s character considering possibly buying a kidney for the sake of helping her out. Clearly, that’s a pretty big sign of just how badly she does not want to speak with Kyle again, and for good reason. This guy is a jerk — he was intent on keeping a kidney away from his daughter just because he felt like she was a drug addict and would completely blow through it anyway. Now, Nic may not have another choice, and with her sister’s health deteriorating, time may also be running out at the same time.

Meanwhile, also within this episode we’re going to have a chance to see a larger-scale issue when it comes to Chastain as a hospital. We know that there is a financial crisis going on, so what are we going to see Dr. Bell do in order to save it? Is there anything that he can do? Well, as it turns out, a merger is a possibility … though it may not be a possibility that anyone is altogether eager to consider.

In an effort to save Chastain, Bell considers selling the hospital to a conglomerate, but Kit tries to make him see that the negatives will outweigh the positives. With Conrad’s help, Nic tracks down Kyle (guest star Corbin Bernsen) and pleads for him to reconsider donating a kidney to Jessie. Meanwhile, Mina voices her concern to Austin when Shira is assigned to Micah’s surgery and Devon fights for the care of a patient whom the doctors suspect is uninsured in the all-new “The Unbefriended” season finale episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, May 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Obviously, this is a finale that could have emotional ramifications for every character. Is this where something more could happen between Kit and Randolph? Meanwhile, is this where Devon can find a victory at the hospital? After so many hardships this season? Can Mina prove that she is more qualified than anyone to treat Micah, even if there is a dotted personal history between the two? Is there a cliffhanger? There’s a lot to think about but luckily, all answers are coming within a single week’s time.
