FBI episode 22 (finale) spoilers: The case of Maggie’s husband
Through most of this season, Maggie’s husband has been a shadow, lurking underneath the surface while we hope that some more information finds its way out to us. You’re left just playing a waiting game without an answer, and that process can certainly be rather frustrating to deal with.
Given that the title for this finale is “Closure,” it’s easy to look at that and assume “okay, she’s going to get what she needs to move forward” … but maybe this is closure on one part of his death and maybe it raises more questions for the future. We feel like we’ve watched enough Dick Wolf television over the course of our lifetime to really understand that answers are not always answers. Sometimes, it’s more of a breadcrumb that you nibble on while you wait for the producers to throw more bread on the ground to eventually lead you somewhere. That could be the case here, but no doubt this is going to be an intense episode that at least brings you closer to understanding what happened. It’s just going to require Maggie and OA racing against the clock.

A woman with information about the death of Maggie’s (Missy Peregrym) husband is abducted, which leads OA (Zeeko Zaki) and the team to uncover a criminal operation larger than anyone imagined.
Also, Dana (Sela Ward) puts her career in jeopardy when she allows Maggie to work on this case that has such a personal connection to her in “Closure.”
One of the nice things about this synopsis is that it’s seemingly aware of what our burning question would be, and it goes ahead and answers it without hesitation. Obviously, the concern entering an episode like this is that Maggie works on a case that is this personal, and she allows her anger and pain to define some of her actions. It’s a big move of trust on Dana’s part for her to decide that this doesn’t matter all that much in comparison to getting justice. It’s showcasing confidence and making it clear that Maggie has the authority to do what needs to be done — though of course, if she screws this up in the field there could be a domino effect, one that has some REALLY bad consequences for the entire office moving into season 2.
Odds are, either this case or its emotional aftermath will serve as a worthy tease moving into season 2.
