Hawaii Five-0 season 9 finale spoilers: What’s the big mystery?
Take, for example, the presence of Joey Lawrence. The former Blossom star is apparently slated to appear in some capacity during this episode as Aaron Wright, the shrewd hacker who somehow is going to find his way out of prison. He’s got an agenda that he’ll be looking to execute, and for McGarrett and the rest of Five-0, they have to find a way to stop him before he does anything drastic. The mystery could come via a tiny tidbit shared recently via CBS all about this final episode:
Five-0 continues to hunt down escaped criminal Aaron Wright (Joey Lawrence) before he can sell cyber-weapons to the highest bidder and the lives of McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) and the team are put in danger when a visitor comes to headquarters to make amends.
So who could this mystery visitor be? You can read into at least a few context clues here. For starters, it’s someone who has clearly wronged Five-0 in some way since they are looking to come back with a specific reason in mind. They’re also someone who is morally conflicted, even if they do come to headquarters with the best of intentions, it could cause all of the task force to be in a certain degree of jeopardy. Doesn’t this sound compelling enough for a cliffhanger? We like to think so.
Granted, the idea of talking about a Hawaii Five-0 cliffhanger right now might be a tad nerve-inducing given that we’re talking here about a show that technically has not received a season 10 renewal just yet. We’re very hopeful for it though, and aren’t really sweating the process of waiting out. CBS has already renewed some shows with comparable ratings, and also renewed another Hawaii-set show in Magnum PI that hasn’t fared as well as Hawaii Five-0 for most of the past several months. Provided that Aaron Wright doesn’t hack into CBS and change all of the ratings information for this show, it will almost surely be back.
For Lawrence, consider this somewhat of a CBS reunion. The actor previously appeared on Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year (which was very interesting to watch and see him in a more personal setting away from his career). It’s also far from his first trip out to Hawaii, as we’ve seen Wright flex his villain muscles before and that makes us really excited about this finale.
In case you forgot…
There’s a pretty good reason to watch Friday’s episode, provided of course that you love emotional stories featuring the supporting cast! This is going to be one of the biggest struggles yet for Noelani as she finds herself forced to operate at gunpoint. You can read more about it over here; hopefully, she’s learned enough about dealing with bad guys from spending time with Five-0. That’ll help her get through this and claw her way to the other side.
