STAR season 3 episode 16 preview: Back to ‘Square One’
Next week on STAR season 3 episode 16, you’re going to see surprises old and new — and also more of a shared universe. After all, Empire is going to be a part of this episode, even if you’re not going to see all of the main characters turning up on the show. Instead, you’re going to have opportunities to see different relationships in crisis, Take 3 figuring out where the group stands, and also trying to figure out the current state of their personal lives.
With there only being three more episodes left this season, you’re going to see things ramp up — they absolutely have to. Given that season 3 episode 16 is entitled “Square One,” that’s a sign to us that the show will have to pick up steam and momentum quickly in order to make sure that it gets to where it needs to in the end.
Below, CarterMatt has the official STAR season 3 episode 16 synopsis with some other information when it comes to what lies ahead:
To campaign for the ASA Awards, Gravity throws an Easter brunch showcasing their artists, but as the awards draw nearer, the future of Take 3 and their solo careers are on the line. As the label faces possible bankruptcy, Carlotta must rally the troops to woo Empire executive, Giselle (guest star Nicole Ari Parker), in hopes she will invest. Star struggles to juggle Davis and her career, and clashes with Noah’s mom, Dianne (guest star Kimberly Elise). Meanwhile, Alex plans for her future and Simone doubles down on her activism, which puts Angel (guest star Evan Ross) in danger in the all-new “Square One” episode of STAR airing Wednesday, April 24 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (LDS-316) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)
The state of Angel could be one of the biggest question marks as we get a little bit closer to this episode, alongside we suppose the state of the label. While bringing some of these characters closer to Empire would be a smart move for the series’ connectivity, we also don’t think that the show needs to really change all that much. What it just needs to do is establish a clear path and get Take 3 actually around each other a little more often. One of the big issues that we’ve had with season 3 so far is that some of the main characters have drifted all over the place. It’s been hard to see Star separate from some of the other characters, and that’s just scratching the surface of what’s happening elsewhere.
