Game of Thrones season 8 episode 1 sneak peek airing during 60 Minutes
CBS announced on Wednesday that during their upcoming episode of 60 Minutes on Sunday, you’re going to have a chance to get an exclusive clip from the epic premiere episode. It may not be much — it could just be two minutes of Jon Snow flossing and the entire internet would go berserk. That’s where we are right now when it comes to enthusiasm for this show and we get it. We’re talking about a legendary fantasy epic and the most-popular series in the history of HBO. They’re making enough money to sit on Iron Thrones reconverted into gold — it’s all going to end, but there are still six episodes to enjoy first.
Beyond this exclusive sneak peek, Sunday’s 60 Minutes segment will find Anderson Cooper interviewing a real who’s-who of well-known names from this franchise. Think along the lines here of Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage and Kit Harington alongside showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff and then also the man who started it all in George R.R. Martin. You’ll get a look behind the scenes at the show which is always fun to see. We love a good peek behind the curtain to see how some of this all came together.
Of course, the funniest thing about this sneak preview is that it’s coming less than two hours before the Game of Thrones premiere airs on HBO, but we STILL feel like there are going to be a ton of people chomping at the bit to see it. We’re within this era where any and all content related to this show is scrutinized and then re-scrutinized and it’ll allow some out there to start forging and formulating their opinions on the opening salvo to an epic six episode final season. There is more of the franchise beyond that — think in terms of an already-announced prequel series — but that’s so far down the road right now it’s hard to really even think of it. (There’s a part of us that wishes that the lengthy segment of fake Game of Thrones spin-offs from this past episode of Saturday Night Live was 100% legit.)
