MacGyver season 3 episode 19 preview: Exploding stuffed animals
What makes this show fun is that while they often do give you some of the same sort of stuff that you like from all of your favorite action shows, there’s an element of science behind it. There are reasons why things blow up, after all — and within this upcoming episode, one of these things is going to be stuffed animals. You can see that in the promo below, and it seems as though it’s a function of Mac and Desi trying to keep some bad guys from getting to them. Sometimes, you gotta make do with whatever materials are around you in order to ensure that you survive — that’s really the Angus MacGyver way. Stuffed animals are still a little bit of a new medium in order to work your magic, but we like to think that this really just adds to some of the fun. If you’re going to blow things up, why not have it be colorful?
As for why Mac and Desi find themselves trying to run in the first place, the synopsis below does its part to explain that:
MacGyver and Desi help a group of Syrian refugees who are being pursued by human traffickers. Also, in Los Angeles, Bozer is trapped in Oversight’s car which is rigged to explode.
So for anyone out there wondering whether or not there would be lasting blowback to last night with Murdoc, there won’t be. There’s not a whole lot of time for Team Phoenix to think about it when there are other missions that need immediate attention!
For Bozer, the mission is something a little bit different. Call it Operation Survive At All Costs, if you will. He doesn’t necessarily have the same improvisation skills that his buddy Mac does, but this position could prove to almost be a final exam for him in the field of Studying MacGyver. If he’s paid attention to some of his friend’s problem-solving over the years, maybe he can find a way to get out of this situation … while also doing whatever he can in order to avoid certain death. What we’re left to wonder here is simply this: Does he have a ticking clock? Is there any way for him to know how much time he really has before things go kaboom? We always find shows are better when someone puts some giant, ridiculous clock somewhere and you have a sense that if the character jumps past that threshold, they don’t make it out alive.
If you missed it…
