Siren season 2 episode 9 return date, plus grown-ish, Good Trouble news
Today, the network confirmed that come Thursday, July 11 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, you’re going to Siren continue the story where it left off. As a matter of fact, the show’s season 2B synopsis details that the story “picks up with Ben and Maddie feeling uncertain about the mermaids’ future after the deadly consequences of the attack on the oil rig … With the mermaids returning to sea, Ben and Maddie are left feeling lost without Ryn. Once Helen learns she’s not the only one of her kind, she discovers there’s a dark side to her people’s past.” There’s a lot of exciting stuff coming up with this show, and while we obviously wish that there was more good news to report on in terms of a season 3 renewal, at least we know that you won’t have to wait until the other side of the summer to see what’s coming up around the corner.
Siren’s made quite a splash, pun intended, since it first launched on the network. It’s basically allowed its viewers an opportunity to see a darker side of mermaids and to explore some new elements and ideas within its gloriously-mysterious world.
As for some other big news from today…
Good Trouble has a season 2 premiere date – Even though season 1 is not even over at the moment, the Maia Mitchell – Cierra Ramirez show is going to back come Tuesday, June 18. It’s a little unusual to see a show back so soon for a second season, but obviously, there is a strike-while-the-iron-is-hot factor here — especially since Freeform knows that it really only has so long in order to fully capture the attention of its young viewers before they move on and try to enjoy whatever comes next.
grown-ish – Meanwhile, the black-ish spin-off series featuring Yara Shahidi will be back on Wednesday, June 5 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
What all three of these dates show you
Mostly, that Freeform understands the importance of summer to the success of its programs. There is less out there when it comes to broadcast competition and with its viewers either out of school and/or college, there is a chance for them to really dogpile all over some of those viewers. They need them if they want to ensure that some of their shows stick around for a few more seasons beyond the current one. We imagine that for all three of these shows mentioned, there’s going to be an insistence on giving you arcs that take place both in the summer and then also during the winter.
