‘Jersey Shore’ season 6: JWoww compares show with ‘Honey Boo Boo’
Is “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” really the next “Jersey Shore”? It may seem like an unusual thing to say first, but this is in some ways how one of the most-popular cast members from the hit MTV franchise sees it.
Speaking to the Associated Press in a new interview promoting the show’s sixth and final season premiering tonight, Jenni “JWoww” Farley looked at the run her show has had with perspective, and also explained why she thinks that a certain TLC show starring Alana Thompson is in many ways the heir apparent to be the next phenomenon:
“I look at them like us because we’re different in society … They’re different in society, but they’re such an amazing family, and we’re an amazing family. Everyone loves them because they’re themselves. They’re funny. They’re hysterical. There’s nothing they’re doing wrong. I love them for that.”
If the “Jersey Shore” comparison is legitimate, then we should probably expect the upcoming season or two of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” to be its peak before it starts to slowly and surely lose some of its viewers. The problem with all of these reality shows is that there is only so long that they can do the same thing; and once that thing is gone, there’s not much else left for them to do. There is also controversy driving both of them, which has allowed for so much success in the ratings.
To us, “Jersey Shore” is still far and away superior, and with that in mind, it is something that we are going to miss when it finishes its run later this summer even if the “Snooki & JWoww” spin-off will continue.
