The Bachelor finale: Are Colton Underwood, Cassie Randolph engaged?

Here was the problem with that from the start: Cassie wasn’t altogether stoked to be a part of the show herself. She was ready to go home and didn’t seem altogether into being engaged. Heck, it feels like she mostly just stuck around because Colton didn’t have anyone else … but it was still awkward going from her being about to leave to then having to (surprise!) meeting Colton’s parents. That was uncomfortable, especially Colton making virginity jokes in front of them. Who does that, especially with your own family? Seriously?
For a good fifty percent of this episode, we spent our time trying to figure out if Cassie was honestly going to find another way to exit this show. It still didn’t feel like she wanted to be there. Sure, she cared about Colton, but there’s a difference between caring about someone and then decided that you want to run off into the sunset with them for the rest of your life. She’s wasn’t really there and no amount of commentary or pleading from Chris Harrison could change that in a million years.
Are they actually together?
It seems that way, and for the record we really don’t care whether or not they slept together. Chris can’t force that on us, either.
Let’s get back to the question at the heart of this article — the two are not engaged. They’re still together and clearly enjoying their time as a dating couple, which includes living close to each other (but not living together) and traveling. Apparently, the two are considering engagement but not in a hurry to do so right now.
What was funny about all of this is that typically, The Bachelor likes to show a montage-of-sorts of various moments during their weekends together — which production hovers over to make sure that no bid secrets get out. Also, we had Air Supply turn up for whatever reason, mostly because production needed to fill in more time and they wanted to have an excuse for someone to do a song with the words “making love” in the lyrics.
