The Bachelor spoilers: Could Cassie leave during overnight dates?

Tonight’s episode of The Bachelor features the overnight dates, which are obviously the most important part of the season so far. It represents the only tangible time that these people have away from the cameras! That means they can bond, talk, and do other things that we really don’t want to think about. Yes, we get it that Colton is a virgin, but he even mentions himself in the sneak peek below that this could change by the time the episode airs!

While there is a chance this episode could be deeply romantic and personal, the hype coming in doesn’t seem to hint at that. Instead, it could be the most dramatic episode in Bachelor history. We know that statement is hyperbole to end all hyperbole, but it could end up being the case here with Colton and Cassie Randolph.

The first clue that something is awry tonight is simply looking to the past. Look at the hometown date! While all of the other women were ready and willing to profess their undying love to Colton, Cassie’s a little more hesitant. She didn’t want to commit to anything and didn’t seem confident in her feelings. This brings us to clue #2 — the synopsis for the overnight date below:

[Will] Cassie have the opportunity to be his first? Cassie is still apprehensive about taking the next step with Colton, and he reveals to her the unsettling conversation he had with her father during their hometown date. Then all hell breaks loose when their date is interrupted by a bombshell surprise no one saw coming. How will it affect the couple?

A stunning twist – a first in show history – causes Colton to literally have a breakdown, leaving everyone speechless. What he does next not only changes his journey but everyone else’s. How will it all end? Will his worst fears be realized?

There is another sign that something weird is going down in this episode — despite all of the details about what’s coming for Colton and Cassie, there’s no mention of Hannah G. at all. This means that her overnight date probably doesn’t happen in this episode! How often does that happen within The Bachelor? Here’s your answer — it doesn’t happen. This is the sort of show that operates via a routine until it suddenly doesn’t. Something will cause Colton and Cassie’s time to become a calamity and cause Colton to leap over the fence as his very life depends on it. The clear implication of the fence-jump is that the guy doesn’t want to deal with production anymore. That makes sense — if his heart is crushed to bits, why let them see that … other than that this is the point of the show and it’s exactly what you signed on to do.
