Obviously, there are some TV show and minor book spoilers ahead, so be aware of that before we dive into this any more.

1. Will Brianna and Roger be happy? – They have a chance to actually spend some real time together, which they haven’t had many opportunities to really do ever since the two of them each went back to the past. There’s a lot they still need to work through, in between Roger leaving and then also him not coming back immediately with Jamie and Claire. We do think that there are some great stories here worth telling, provided that there is the time to do so.

2. How will Jamie and Claire handle the expanding Fraser’s Ridge? – Roger and Bree presumably will be going back to their home with them, and we certainly think that they are going to have more settlers over time. Can they tackle the added responsibility?

3. Can Jamie actually build a militia against Murtagh? – That is obviously a question worth wondering judging from the end of tonight’s finale, and it’s something that could raise all sorts of difficult political questions moving forward. If Jamie doesn’t do it, he risks losing his land or death. If he does, he could cause the death of one of the most-important people in his life.

4. Is Stephen Bonnet really dead? – While these characters seem to think that he is, remember that we never saw the body and that means something. (In the book series, this is not the end of Bonnet — keep that in mind.)

5. Will we see Young Ian again? – Likewise, this decision in the books does not rule out Young Ian from being involved in the Frasers’ lives in the future, but the character is still rather far away from Jamie and Claire now and he doesn’t seem to be altogether interested in hurrying his way back to them.
