Let’s kick things off in this preview now by sharing the official synopsis for this episode — after all, this sets the stage for much of what you can expect to see:
Ray settles his final scores and revisits the past with his father. The Donovans clean up their mess. Smitty gets a crash course in what it means to be a part of the family. Season finale.
This is an episode that is going to be in part about whether or not Ray can actually tie up much of what he’s been dealing with when it comes to the police and, beyond just that, when it comes to his work with Sam Winslow. She’s still trying to tie together the election and get what she wants out of it; for Ray, what he really should want is being able to get closure with his family and actually move forward.
Of course, a big part of doing that now is going to be finding out a way in which to dispose of some of those bodies that were left behind. This is the position now that Smitty finds himself in now that 1) he’s killed someone and 2) that a couple more bodies were dropped off. What does he want to do with those, and how does he move forward from the situation that he’s in? The table is going set now for an incredibly-intense send-off to the series, and we just hope that it will end up delivering given that it’s likely going to be many months until season 7 premieres.
Of course, we’d say to remember this as we await the end of the season — just because we’ve witnessed a good bit of death already does not mean that the show is done with it. We wouldn’t be shocked if there are a number of other bodies that drop by the closing minutes of the story.
