The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 11 video: How the paintball game begins

After a hiatus for the past couple of weeks The Big Bang Theory season 12 episode 11 is coming onto CBS this Thursday! So what can you expect? There’s going to be a lot of familiar comedy, but to go along with that you’re going to have paintball … LOTS of paintball.

So what’s the origin story of this particular story? Well, it seems to be starting with Leonard and Penny making a decision that a paintball game would actually be a fun thing for them to take part in … though we’re not 100% sure that this would be the case in the event it actually happened. For starters, Penny is super-competitive, and she’s also inviting someone else in Bernadette that is equally competitive. Also, the guys are not particularly athletic at all, which means that we envision this for the most part going extremely badly for them.

We also do wonder if this is the sort of environment where everyone lets off a little bit of aggression but, in the process of doing that, also ends up inevitably revealing a little bit more of their true feelings than they really should. This is the sort of environment where that sort of thing can easily happen.

More so than anything else, we recognize at the moment that we’re gearing up for an event episode like no other. Anytime these sort of episodes are staged, there’s typically a specific reason for it. We imagine that this is going to be an episode that, in one way or another, works to propel the show more moving through the remainder of the season. We’re just about to the halfway point of the final season and given that this first episode is the first one of the new year, we do think that the writers are going to be propelling things in an interesting direction.

Of course, in the midst of whatever sort of character development we have, we do still hope that there is some comedy in here. This is the backbone of this show and that’s something that always done need to be there — even in some harder times.
