Arrow season 7: See Stephen Amell’s take on 150th episode
Of course, it’s certainly possible that Amell is being sarcastic in returning to the episode as fun, mostly because this isn’t exactly the sort of show that lets a heck of a lot of fun in. It’s so much more dark and challenging for the characters than anything else, and this is absolutely one of the show’s most-challenging chapters as a whole. There’s been a lot of super-dark stuff that some of these characters have been going through and, moving forward, that’s probably going to continue even with Oliver Queen out of prison.
Beyond the specific story for the 150th episode, one thing that we absolutely don’t want to see get lost is just how special it is that Arrow has made it to this episode in the first place. There aren’t a lot of shows these days, especially superhero ones, that have an opportunity to tell this many stories. It’s a real testament to the work of everyone behind the scenes, who have all put in a good many hours in their efforts to make this show fantastic. It’s also a testament to viewers who have stuck with the show. While the Green Arrow may not be the most mainstream out of all of the DC heroes, this show was able to breathe so much life into him and even fold in some new dimensions.
As for how much longer we envision Arrow lasting, we’re at least confident that there will be more one season. After all, would we really be able to get a Crisis on Infinite Earths without having Oliver Queen involved in some shape or form? It’d feel like somewhat of a loss to do this show without the hero that really kicked the entire Arrowverse off in the first place. (It still is crazy to think about how shows like Legends of Tomorrow, which is far more comedic and eccentric, are a part of the same universe as a tortured crime-fighter with no powers and a hood.)
Remember that Arrow season 7 returns with new episodes in January — now that the Elseworlds crossover is over, the series can get back to doing precisely what it is that they do best.
