So why are so many series aired in marathons on Christmas Eve? It’s mostly networks throwing their hands into the air and realizing that they really don’t have any hope of generating big ratings for original shows. With that, they best thing that they can possibly hope for is that these shows manage to at least get them viewership from people who may be wrapping some last-minute Christmas gifts or just want to put something on TV while they do some other things at home with friends.
One thing that we will especially note about the list here is that it’s nice that BBC America is remembering to give us a good bit of Doctor Who related content now — there is no Christmas Special happening this year, so it’s clear that we are going to have to get some of our show-related entertainment somewhere else.
