Outlander season 4 episode 8 video: Jamie, Claire visit Fergus, Marsali

In the clip below via Canadian broadcaster W Network, you can see Jamie and Claire Fraser pay a most-welcome visit to their friends Fergus and Marsali in the city. The two are living there in hopes of starting a great life for themselves, and they are already getting accustomed to taking on an exciting new role: Parents! Marsali tells Claire that she is “fit to burst” taking care of the little one, who has offered them up a new perspective on life and someone new to celebrate.
Jamie and Claire have arrived in town to see them, but to also spend a little bit of time with the Governor and his right-hand man, someone who (per Murtagh) has no problem lining his pockets with treasury money. This episode is going to do a nice job of balancing out some of the personal, meaningful stories with Jamie and Claire with some other elements that are a little more political in nature — there is a larger story that is ratcheting up here that cannot be ignored! Jamie and Claire are running Fraser’s Ridge, after all, due largely to the arrangement that Jamie has with the Governor. Yet, at the same time there are some conflicting feelings here with the onset of the American Revolution and Jamie’s relationship with Murtagh. He may understand the cause, but he’s had to make the arrangements that he has in order to secure his own short-term future. All of this is going to come to a head eventually.
Hopefully, whenever that moment does come Jamie and Claire can rely on some of the close friends that they have assembled, whether it be Murtagh or people like Fergus and Marsali. We’d like to think that Lord John Grey could get involved, but his position in the government makes matters more challenging. They could have some other allies on the way in the form of Roger and Brianna, but there may be other issues that need to be dealt with involving the two of them, as well.
