Another NCIS alum speaks out about Michael Weatherly

Michael Weatherly

Earlier this weekend, we wrote about a pair of NCIS alum in Sasha Alexander and Pauley Perrette speaking out about their experiences with Michael Weatherly. This comes following a bombshell New York Times report from last week detailing that CBS paid a $9.5 million settlement to actress Eliza Dushku after being the recipient of unwanted conduct on the show’s set. Weatherly issued an apology, but since the report it has been all quiet on the official front of CBS itself.

Now, there are some other names to add to the list of people sharing their own personal experiences. First is Lauren Holly, who was a series regular on NCIS for three years during its run. In a post on Twitter, she made it clear that she had “much [love]” for her former co-star in Weatherly. She also referred to a reporter behind the original NYT piece, stating “surely you’re not done.”

What we should note about Holly and every other statement we’ve mentioned here is that by no means are they looking to looking to discredit or invalidate Dushku’s own account. All of these are separate experiences, and they are choosing simply to share some of their own. These women all have their own relationship with Weatherly and in their own words, the experiences are positive.

To go along with Holly’s comments, meanwhile, Weatherly’s Bull co-star Geneva Carr also posted her own message about the actor, stating that she has “nothing but respect” for him and noting that he has her “friendship for good.” Carr remains a series regular on the show, where she has been since the very first season.

As Bull moves forward…

It does appear that the series will continue to air new episodes on CBS starting in January, as there has been no indication that there will be any changes to the schedule. The settlement report has been acknowledged and discussed, and as we’ve noted on a few occasions already, we are at the point now where viewership will be what ultimately decides the future for Bull pending some other news eventually coming out on the subject.

One other question is what will become of some of the series that Weatherly is helping to develop behind the scenes at CBS, where he has an overall deal. He is not expected to appear in front of the camera in any of them, so it remains to be seen whether or not the network will choose to steer clear of him in light of recent headlines. There are still many weeks to go until CBS needs to make long-term decisions on some of their series.

We will have some more news when it comes to the future of Bull and also Weatherly as news starts to become available. (Photo: CBS.)
