Designated Survivor season 3 filming update: The halfway point is here!

In a new post on Instagram (see below), series cast member Kal Penn confirmed this week that they are halfway through production on the ten-episode season in Toronto. Netflix picked up the show after its cancellation over at ABC and throughout the past several weeks, the cast and crew have been doing just about everything that they can in order to perfect the story and make it as entertaining as humanly possible.
There’s going to be a lot of fascinating stuff through this season, and we imagine that the move to Netflix is going to pay off in some exciting ways. This is an opportunity to see the show get a little bit bigger and edgier as they tackle some really exciting, fascinating subject matter. That could include some timely discussions about government, the media, and the way in which information is processed and spread. This can be a really confusing, challenging time for governments and for truth, and there are ways in which this season can do that without even necessarily being that political when it comes to things that are happening in real life.
So when could filming on Designated Survivor season 3 actually be complete? Based on when they started up, it’s fair to think that they could be wrapped up by early this coming spring. This could give the post-production team a few months in order to get things together in the event that Netflix wants to launch the show in the summer. They’ve never confirmed a precise premiere date for the upcoming episodes, but for us personally, this does seem like potentially the best time in order to launch it. Why wouldn’t they want it to be on the air sooner rather than later?

Be a supporter of Designated Survivor soon after it airs! What you need in order to do that is watch the show within a short period of time when it comes to Netflix, and then try your best to encourage your friends to do the same. This is the best way to ensure that a season 4 can happen!
