Suits season 8 episode 11 promo: Does Donna have new love interest?

As the promo below gives away, Donna’s going to be getting a brand-new love interest in the back half of this season, someone who seems to be on the surface kind, caring, and totally head-over-heels for her. Basically, he’s everything that Donna should be getting in a love interest. Is everything here really as it seems? That’s probably a fair question to ask, largely because of the fact that things within the world of Suits are often a little more complicated than they appear to be at face value. The only thing that we can say with the utmost confidence is that Donna at least seems to be happy. She hasn’t been the luckiest in love, and her feelings for Harvey have certainly complicated things for her in the past.
Moving forward we imagine that it’s Harvey’s feelings that may end up complicating things given that clearly, he still has some feelings for her that he is trying to repress, mostly for the sake of acting like he’s happy for her. Harvey is the sort of person who understands that no good will come from being jealous of this guy from the get-go; yet, he may also need to make his feelings heard in some way if he wants to eventually convince her to give him a shot. We don’t know if this is someone who is husband material for Donna, but as the relationship gets deeper, this is a question that Harvey himself may have to weigh. If he doesn’t want to run the risk of losing her, shouldn’t he consider at least telling her about how he feels?
As for what else is coming…
The big tease for the second half of season 8 is that Louis Litt is now the firm’s biggest power player — he’s managing partner and really has the power to control almost everything that happens. The challenge that he faces is getting people like Harvey and Robert Zane to fall in line, given that listening to Louis Litt is not something that has been high on their priority list pretty much ever.
Beyond just this, can we also just put out our hopes for a season 9 into the universe now? This show has worked incredibly well this season, even if we miss Mike and Rachel. We’d certainly be happy to have more.
