13 Reasons Why, Anne with an E, Insatiable on Netflix’s 2018 binge-watch list
What are some of the most-binged shows on Netflix for the calendar year? That’s something that the streaming service decided to release on Tuesday, to a certain extent, with a brand-new list.
There’s one thing to point out about this list in advance, though — it’s really just referencing the highest watch time per viewing session through the end of November. Therefore, the following programs below are not necessarily the ones that are the most-viewed. However, they are the ones that viewers are sitting down in watching in enormous chunks. It’s still valuable information, since (as we’ve noted at CarterMatt in the past) Netflix really values programs that viewers watch quickly, and also watch the whole way through.

Take a look at the entire list below…
1. On My Block
2. Making a Murderer: Part 2
3. 13 Reasons Why (season 2)
4. Last Chance U: INDY
5. Bodyguard
6. Fastest Car
7. The Haunting of Hill House
8. Anne with an E (season 2)
9. Insatiable
10. Orange Is the New Black (season 6)
There are likely some surprises on this list for some out there. Take, for example, Insatiable — this series was met with a ton of controversy when it was first released, and yet it’s clearly found quite the dedicated following for itself over on Netflix among people who want to watch it fast. Meanwhile, 13 Reasons Why is clearly justifying its continued existence despite a polarizing second season, and Anne with an E may very well be one of the most-addictive shows you’re not watching.
Personally, we’re still somewhat shocked that BoJack Horseman isn’t on this list given that we could probably watch the entirety of that show all at once without any problem at all.
Anyhow, this data should give you a pretty good sense of some of the programs that Netflix is going to continue to push and promote moving forward — and it makes it all the more surprising that Bodyguard hasn’t gotten some sort of formal season 2 pickup just yet. It’s coming, but the wait for ourselves and many others is still somewhat-maddening.
Admittedly, we’re already super-curious as to what the future of the streaming service is going to hold given that 2019 brings the arrival of fan favorite Lucifer to the service. Meanwhile, there’s also going to be a chance to get Stranger Things back on there after sitting out 2018. Don’t you think that it has a rather-good chance of dominating in terms of watch time?
