Basically, this new promo finds Momoa in a position where he is now a member of the NBC page program, which means that he has all of the customary duties that go along with that — he has to answer phone calls, solve problems, and mostly make sure that everything remains a well-oiled machine. After taking a phone call, Jason springs into action to make sure that the person gets an answer to some information they so desperately seek … which apparently involves him punching Beck Bennett in the face and also a rather unique method of file retrieval. He also navigates / dances his way through lasers. This is entirely hilarious and we are absolutely here for it.
This promo does a good job of leaning into much of what we know and love the best about Momoa, whether it be his physicality, his ability to poke fun at himself, and his overall sense of eagerness to be there. While he does fit the mold of the action hero, there is a whole lot more of him that he is willing to show off here. The easiest comparison that we can make entering this episode is Chris Hemsworth, at least in terms of how he approaches the show and how he’s looking to have fun with every single moment that he possibly can. We are expecting that there is going to be some sort of Aquaman spoof in here given that Momoa is there in order to promote the movie, but don’t be surprised if we also get a chance to see some sort of Game of Thrones spoof mixed in here. Even though Momoa may now have another famous alter ego, there is a contingent of people out there who may forever know him as Drogo. If this means that we can get an Emilia Clarke cameo thrown in there, we’re all for that.
Musically, be prepared for this episode to feature a performance from none other than Mumford & Sons, who have been on the show in this capacity before.
