The first thing that you should know is that next week’s Supergirl is technically airing at a special time in Tuesday, December 11 at 9:00 p.m. Eastern in the place of The Flash, which will be taking on its timeslot on December 9. The shows are being moved around in order to accommodate the story of Elseworlds, which is being done in a specific way so that the story makes sense. This is being told across three nights and will be three hours as a whole, which means that Supergirl is actually going to close the crossover out. There may not be too much insight at all into the main story of the season during this, so be prepared for there to not bee too much of Agent Liberty and what’s going on this season in it. If there is, we’ll be pleasantly surprised.
We suggest that you watch every night of the crossover, just because there’s a lot of Supergirl stuff happening throughout. Take, for example, getting to see Elizabeth Tulloch for the first time as Lois Lane — and also seeing the Black Suit variation of Superman at one point. These are things that are iconic to some of the source material, and rest assured there could be some interesting Alex stuff in here, as well. More than likely a few characters will be left out of most of the crossover action, as it often happens with this show.
Just in case you do want specific insight on the third part of Elseworlds, have no fear! Below, CarterMatt offers up the full Supergirl season 4 episode 9 synopsis with a little more insight on this particular episode:
THE BATTLE CONCLUDES – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) and Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) engage in the battle of their lives. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Marc Guggenheim and teleplay by Derek Simon & Robert Rovner (#409). Original airdate 12/11/2018.
For those wondering about when the next proper episode of Supergirl is going to come on the air, more than likely you’ll be stuck waiting until January to see it. That may be a bummer, but hopefully there’ll be some fun teases along the way.
