Outlander season 4 episode 6 preview: Lord John Grey returns

Outlander

Moving into Outlander season 4 episode 6, we’re going to see the arrival of some other important characters. One of the more notable ones is going to be the great Lord John Grey, who we haven’t seen since Jamaica at the end of this past season. However, to go along with that, there is also a chance here to see none other than William, Jamie’s son, back within the world of the series. Lord John took Willie in as his own last season following the story “Of Lost Things,” which allowed the boy to have a stable and safe upbringing. This felt like the right thing to do for the boy at the end, but anytime that you are putting William and Jamie back into the same orbit, it is inevitable that there are going to be some complications.

As the Outlander season 4 episode 6 synopsis below reveals, this episode is going to be a complicated own for Claire largely because of all of the history that is there between many of these characters:

Jamie and Claire are surprised when Lord John Grey drops in on Fraser’s Ridge with an unexpected traveling companion. When Grey takes ill, Claire must reconcile her personal feelings with her duties as a doctor.

To call the relationship between Grey and Jamie complicated feels somewhat like an understatement, and we don’t things are going to be any less complex as we move forward. Yet, we know that this is a character in the books with quite a larger story to tell. With that in mind, it’s hard to imagine the series wanting to tie things up with him in the immediate future.

What’s coming up next with Brianna?

We do know, based on the end of tonight’s episode, that she has traveled back to the past in order to warn Jamie and Claire about what could be happening to them. This episode could help to offer up some insight on her journey, but we hope that there is a chance to spend a little bit of time with her in Scotland before she heads back over to America. Doesn’t it feel essential on some level that she ends up paying a visit to Lallybroch and meet some of her old ancestors? There’s a chance to see a part of this world through the eyes of another, and that feels essential and a little bit nostalgic for those out there who do love and cherish the earlier seasons of the show. Who doesn’t want to reflect a little bit?
