It’s clear based on these alone that there is a pretty substantial time jump coming into this episode, given of course the fact that a cabin like this does not get build in a day or even a week. They’ve been working at it for a while but the two now have a chance to actually relax and enjoy more of their settled life … or at least they will probably want to do that in theory. It’s still something that they are striving for on some level, but there are additional responsibilities that need to be met and also duties that need to be attended to. This is a fundamental part of this upcoming episode as a whole.

Of course, we should also note here that there are many different things that are not going to go altogether according to plan.

For Jamie and Young Ian, they will be doing a little bit of traveling in this episode in order to recruit other settlers — this is a key component to what they are doing at Fraser’s Ridge as they work out a way to build a larger community around them. Alas, there are going to be some surprising snags that they run into — especially from a political perspective. Political movements are something that Jamie and Claire need to get used to, given what is going to be coming years down the line courtesy of the American Revolution.

Finally, this image is of actors Urs Rechn, who will be playing the part in this particular story of Gerhard Mueller. Based on his name and also his outfit, it’s fair to say that he is one of the German settlers Claire will be dealing with during this episode. He’s a character from the books and at least on the show, he may be involved in a conflict that features himself alongside the Cherokee tribe, who is going to be none too pleased about his presence. Their sentiment is mostly that he is going to impede that the Cherokee do not have the right to some of the river water near his settlement; however, the local tribe understandably feels like land like this should be for everyone. That is the way that they’ve always believed it to be.
