The Lucifer season 4 finale title, or part of it, has arrived

Lucifer

We know that there have been many out there waiting for the Lucifer season 4 finale title for quite some time — and understandably so! After all, the table read for the finale happened last week and with that in mind, we wondered why the cast and crew were keeping it a secret. The prevailing wisdom here was simply that there may be a spoiler enclosed somewhere in there.

As it turns out, the spoiler theory was correct! In a new post via Twitter below, the official writers’ room for the show revealed only part of the title … a different to something that we’ve seen in the past. The final three words are “King of Hell?”, and that question mark is obviously a big clue. This could be a line that someone is saying or just a question that makes sense for these characters to ponder. It could revolve around there being a new King of Hell, or simply the idea that the king is somehow different than he ever was before.

Regardless of the start of the title, the finale (written by co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich) should leave us off on a tremendous note as we get set for another Lucifer hiatus on the other side. (We’re at least just hoping for a hiatus and not a cancellation — we certainly know that everyone behind the scenes appears to be eager to keep moving forward with the show in some capacity.) Filming for season 4 could wrap up before the end of the year and if that happens, the cast could have more than half a year away from the set depending on a possible season 5 timeline. That is obviously something that they can figure out more down the road given that, at least for now, there is no reason for anyone to hurry things along all that much. They just need to finish creating the best product possible and then working to promote the new season to the best of their ability.

The fourth season of Lucifer will, pending some enormous surprise from Netflix, premiere at some point in 2019. We’re sure that for many out there, it will probably only take the better part of a couple of days at most to make it through some of these stories. This is going to be much of the same Lucifer that you came to love, but in a different home that could in the end support it for some time.
