Arrow season 7 episode 8 preview: The last before crossover

Arrow

What lies ahead on Arrow season 7 episode 8? This is the last one before the big crossover event and with that in mind, there is a great deal of important stuff that you can expect to feel. Just the fact alone that co-showrunner Beth Schwartz wrote this episode gives you a good sense as to the story’s overall importance here.

Below, CarterMatt has the full Arrow season 7 episode 8 synopsis, which offers up a little more insight all about just what is coming up next:

FELICITY MAKES CERTAIN DECISIONS FOR HER FAMILY – Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) stands by her recent decisions regarding her family. Meanwhile, Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla (Audrey Marie Anderson) continue to look into the Dante painting that Curtis (Echo Kellum) found. Alexandra La Roche directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Beth Schwartz (#708). Original airdate 12/3/2018.

By the end of this episode, we expect that there could be some sort of cliffhanger, but we certainly wonder as to whether or not it will be the sort of thing that really carries over and follows Oliver Queen into the Elseworlds crossover. That feels to be very much its own thing and with in mind, we don’t foresee there being an ending here that locks Oliver in so that it would be weird to do the crossover in the first place.

Following this upcoming story and then Elseworlds, more than likely the first episode after the hiatus is going to air in January. Our hope is that over the course of the second half of the season we can see a little bit more of Oliver and the team starting to work together. Do we understand why they’ve all been so disparate in a number of different ways? Absolutely, but this is a show that needs to constantly reinvent itself in order to keep things fresh and exciting. That’s not only what we want from the series right now, but also as we do start to push more and more into what’s going to be coming up down the road — if it gets a season 8 or something later on down the line.

For those of you who have really liked the first part of season 7 (it has done some really cool stuff), hopefully this episode is a nice culmination of a lot of that. We do like that we’re getting more of Diggle and Lyla together, something that always does seem like a rather-nice gift whenever it happens.
