Thanksgiving TV Marathons: Jersey Shore Family Vacation, Chicago PD, more
To go along with the list below, be sure to head over to the link here to get some more news regarding some of the big specials that are coming up! There are some really fun shows coming on the air, but also some that are totally random and also entertaining. Of course, the reason marathons happen for holidays is because networks don’t want to put any new programming on, and they understand that families may just be nostalgic and want to sit down and watch some old favorites. Some of these actually perform rather well in the ratings!
3:00 a.m. Eastern – Jersey Shore Family Vacation marathon officially begins on MTV. (Why not celebrate the holiday by watching The Situation devour a lot of random food?)
4:00 a.m. – Keeping Up with the Kardashians marathon officially begins on E!
6:00 a.m. – Chrisley Knows Best marathon officially begins on USA
6:00 a.m. – Gone with the Wind marathon begins on SundanceTV. (While most other networks are going with shows and movies that are a little more modern, we’re seeing this network go with one of most-popular older movies of all time.)
8:00 a.m. – Bob’s Burgers marathon begins over on TBS.
9:00 a.m. – Chicago PD marathon begins over on Oxygen. (The Chicago PD season 6 fall finale is airing early next month on NBC.)
11:00 a.m. – Family Guy marathon begins on TBS.
1:00 p.m. – Friends Thanksgiving episodes begin airing on TBS (if you recall, this series is known for a lot of great ones). These episodes will also air starting at 7:00 p.m. Eastern on the Paramount Network.
2:00 p.m. – The Office marathon begins on Comedy Central.
5:00 p.m. – black-ish marathon begins on FXX.
8:00 – The Simpsons will start airing their Thanksgiving episodes on FXX. While not as popular as some of the Halloween episodes, there are some noteworthy ones that are in the mix here.
Sound like some good Thanksgiving viewing to anyone? Well, remember that sometimes there are some other marathons that have a tendency to come on some other days during the holiday week — take Black Friday, for example. If there are some other notable marathons that happen during the weekend, we’ll be sure to let you know. Just remember that this is one of the slower programming seasons out there, though more than likely, there will be a chance to check out some new programming again over the weekend. (Shows aren’t going to be sticking off the air for a super-long time due to the holiday.)
