So what’s at the center of this preview? Well, Jimmy has himself a good, steady job making some of the best pastries that the city of New Orleans has to offer — even if it means getting up at 4:00 a.m. every day in order to get them together. Baking is hard work, as is preparing for the breakfast rush — yet, it can be very rewarding (and profitable!) if you play your cards right.
Pride seems to be happy that Jimmy is enjoying his life, but he’s also concerned about one other thing going on right outside of the café: A suspicious-looking person, someone who Jimmy tells Pride not to worry about for now. He’s got his eye on him, but it makes some sense for him to keep Pride at bay if at all possible. The last thing that the community probably wants is someone in law enforcement, running around, flashing their badge, and making everyone feel as uncomfortable as possible.
What’s somewhat funny (and ironic) about this preview is that the last thing that Pride seems to care about here is his actual job — he’s not in a huge rush to make it into the office, especially when it means sitting down for a meeting with a lot of people who do he does not seem all that excited about meeting. Consider this another reminder that Dwayne isn’t loving his new job and would do almost anything to get back, doing to some of what he actually does best. At this point, it’s really just all about him finding a road that can end up with him actually getting there.
Will Pride’s brother be involved down the road this week?
All early signs suggest so, as we are going to see Pride finding himself in a post where he thinks that only his brother will be able to help him. This could take a little bit of teamwork, but we are certainly down with the idea of getting to see more of these two guys actually together. They’re getting to know each other under some potentially-stressful situations, but we suppose that whatever works to actually give us some of those brotherly moments…
