NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 8 preview: ‘Close to Home’ story

NCIS: New Orleans season 4 premiere

Next week, NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 8 will be bringing you a story entitled “Close to Home.” What’s at the center of it? For starters, it is certainly appropriate that we end up getting Pride’s brother Jimmy Boyd back in the mix of things. It wasn’t that long ago when this character first turned up in the 100th episode and this time around, you’re going to get a chance to actually know him better. Beyond just that, Pride is actually going to need him with one of his latest cases. What better way for brothers to bond than by working together? Of course, we understand that this show does not always provide the most conducive environment when it comes to bonding with people you are close to … but still. Sometimes, you have to do pretty much whatever you can in order to ensure that justice is served.

Below, CarterMatt has the NCIS: New Orleans season 5 episode 8 synopsis with some other information all about what lies ahead:

“Close to Home” – The NCIS team places Mateo Diaz (Octavio Rodriguez), a high school gang member turned informant, in protective custody while they investigate the murder of his junior reserve officers’ training corps instructor. Also, Pride needs his brother Jimmy Boyd’s (Jason Alan Carvell) help to gain Mateo’s trust, on NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, Tuesday, Nov. 20 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Will there be some sort of Thanksgiving component? We wonder that, mostly because of the fact that this episode is airing just two days beforehand and these sort of shows always do have a chance to tell some fun stories. Plus, maybe Pride and his brother can actually do a little bit of bonding over Thanksgiving turkey! What better thing is there for a family to do?

Anyhow, fingers crossed that this episode ends up being so much more than just a standard case-of-the-week — even if that’s worth the price of admission. There are so many different family dynamics to explore here for Pride, and that’s without getting into some of what’s happening with the shake-up this season at the NCIS: New Orleans field office itself. Hannah Khoury has found a way to fit right now, but it does remain still to be seen if that lasts as we move forward.
