When Legacies episode 6 airs on The CW next month, we’re going to have quite the reason to celebrate! It’s a birthday, after all, and on paper, this feels like a joyous happy occasion … but it’s almost guaranteed that something is going to go completely haywire. In the world of this particular show, something almost always will.

Over the course of this episode, Josie and Lizzie are going to be in a celebratory mood as they turn sixteen and have a little bit of fun with the holiday. Yet, is everyone else going to be able to focus on the celebration? Probably not, mostly because Alaric is going to find himself dealing with yet another yet, and MG seems to be mostly interested in trying to impress Lizzie — therefore, he may be thinking a little too much about himself and not enough about ways to actually make her happy. This is the sort of mistake that many young people do make in relationships, and it’s definitely something that he is going to have to learn if he wants to win her over down the line. (We definitely don’t think that MG is a bad guy at all; he just has a few different things that he needs to work out.)

Below, CarterMatt has the official Legacies episode 6 synopsis with some additional news all about what’s coming:

LIZZIE AND JOSIE’S SWEET SIXTEEN – As Lizzie (Jenny Boyd) and Josie (Kaylee Bryant) prepare for their long awaited sweet sixteen party, Alaric (Matthew Davis) finds himself preoccupied with the latest supernatural arrival – one that hits a little too close to home. Elsewhere, Penelope’s (guest star Lulu Antariksa) latest plan gives MG (Quincy Fouse) one last shot at impressing Lizzie on her big day, while an unexpected betrayal causes tensions to boil over between Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) and Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith). Geoff Shotz directed the episode written by Marguerite MacIntyre (#106). Original airdate 12/6/2018.

The most exciting thing about this episode going into it is just that this is a chance to really get to know these people on a close, personal level. We’ll get to see some of them feeling their best, but also what’s happening with some of them potentially at their worst. We need to have more time to flesh out all of these relationships if Legacies is going to end up being the interesting, multi-faceted show that we ultimately want it to be. Much like MG, it has a few kinks to work out.
